An afternoon at the park

We try to head to the park at least once a week, where Addison can get a little new scenery in the playground arena...McGucken Park is one of her favorites. This week, one of Addison's buddies met us up there, and Quenton was able to flirt with his girlfriend a little...

Unfortunately, Addison got a busted lip during all of the excitement.

A Family stroll...

We decided to take a family stroll a couple of days a go. There is a path down the road from us for bikes and walking...and it was actually quite relaxing! Addison had fun picking flowers, and Quenton sat back chilling out, like always! It has been such beautiful weather lately, we couldn't pass it up!

Stylin...

Jae and I came home from date night Saturday to find that the babysitter had given Addison a new style...french braids. She absolutely loved them! Good thing I know how to do them, or we'd be in trouble - she's asked for them everyday since then...

You know, I never thought my sweet little girl would be big enough to have french braids, it's crazy how quickly time flies by us...

It has been brought to my attention that I never posted pictures of our home after it was finished...so here goes. I have some of the kids' rooms, and will continue to post the rest of the house as I take them...

This post is loaded with pictures, I'm sorry. I just can't get enough of these little faces.

Quenton update...

Alright...so we went BACK to the doctor yesterday for Quenton's stomach, for the 5th time. My poor sweet boy just can't seem to shake his tummy problems. We started with Zantac, which worked for about 3 weeks. Then we upped his dosage, which did not work. Next, on to Prevacid (a pill that dissolves in his little mouth). Also, we are giving him Maalox, like a little old man. We have changed his formula to a more sensitive brand, that promises to help with spitting up. Now, after upping the dosage on the Prevacid for two weeks, and then trying to ween him back down (which is not working)...we decided to head back to the pediatrician for our next step.

So, the doctor now says his "best case scenario" is severe reflux. He is sending us to a pediatric GI for a scope of his esophagus to make sure that we aren't missing anything. Poor little guy.

But, as an update...he is weighing in at a whopping 16 lbs, 6 oz...which is the 50th percentile (much better than his 13 lbs, 10 oz from 4 weeks ago - which was the 22nd percentile) I don't have his new height, but will in one month at his 6 month checkup.

He is eating oatmeal and rice cereal, juice, prunes, bananas, pears, peas, green beans, carrots, and squash. He is rolling over both ways, reaching for toys and playing with them, taking his pacifier out and putting it back in, and sleeping from about 9:00pm until 6:00am with the occasional wake-up around 4:00am to get some more Maalox.

So, hopefully we will have a positive outcome at the GI...I will keep you posted.

My new blinka-blinka

Okay, so for our 4th anniversary, I told Jae that I wanted another band for my engagement ring...I already had one, but wanted another one just like it to go on the top. So, down at Rucker, there is this great jeweler, and we made a little visit. Unfortunately, it was going to be hard to find a band that matched mine EXACTLY, so we started looking at other options...and this is what I ended up with! YEAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! I LOVE it! Thank you honey!

Oh, also, when I got home, I showed Addie and got yet another funny comment...

Mommy: "Addie, look what daddy got me!"

Addie: "ooooh, mommy...you got new blinka-blinka???"

Mommy: "yep, Addie...new blinka-blinka"

Addie: "I want to put it on." (she puts it on her pointer finger and says) "look mommy...I'm a mommy now!"

She is so stinking hilarious!

A few family pictures

This is the first time in a while that we have been able to get all four of us in a picture...so I was really excited!

4th of July fun...

4th of July is my FAVORITE holiday...aside from Christmas! So...I'm glad we moved nto a neighborhood that goes ALL out for the occasion! We went to a neighborhood block party/cookout that was geared mostly for children...an inflatable water slide, a bicycle parade, and fireworks. Addison surprisingly wanted to go down the slide, and LOVED it until a little boy accidentally landed on top of her! She thought the parade was a race, and eventually got used to the loud cracks of the fireworks. Quenton, as usual, remained our laid back little man spending most of his time flirting or hanging out with Nana or Papi.

Patty Cake, Patty Cake...

Nana and Addison made and decorated a cake for the 4th of July...and it was absolutely COVERED in decorations. Addison tends to go a little overboard in that department...but it turned out really cute!

As you can see, Quenton had a great time watching them make their masterpiece!

Up in 3D

Addison and Quenton went to their first 3-D movie this week, and with a little teamwork, the four of us made it through the whole movie! Addison only wore the glasses for about 1/2 of the movie, and she seemed to really like it. However, she was hoping to see Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs...so she kept asking me the whole time, "mommy, where the elephant and dinosaurs?" We thought we'd document this "first"...crazy, I know.

The fruits of our labor

This past weekend was the first weekend in 8 weeks that we have not had somewhere to go, something to do, or someone visiting us! Craziness! So, we decided to be productive around the house...
(1) Jae completely cleaned the garage
(2) I laid new mulch in the front yard and planted hydrangeas, day lillies, oriental lillies (and some other flower I don't know the name of)
(3) Jae washed and dried the cars, and cleaned the mats on the inside
(4) I cleaned out all of Quenton's clothes that he has grown out of
(5) picked up the house
(6) and cleaned out the refrigerator

Needless to say, we were exhausted when we were done!

I should have taken before and after pictures of the garage, and the trash at the curb from the garage! THAT was a big difference!

The face of food...

About a week before Quenton turned 4 months old, we decided to start him on cereal because his poor little tummy was killing him...and we were hoping a little solids could help? So, at his 4 month appointment, the doctor told us he could go ahead and start on baby foods as well, so Quenton's diet has increased pretty substantially! He's such a good eater, we actually gave him a new nickname..."the garbage disposal"!!! Good news, though...in one week, he gained 1 lb, 3 oz! Holy cow!

These pictures are from his first night of cereal, and whoa...there were a ton of funny little faces!

This might be the sweetest one yet...

Okay, I just had to hop on and write this one down...

So Addison was spinning around in circles this morning in the den, so many times that she was dizzy and falling over.

Mommy: "Addison...lets stop spinning, I don't want you to fall and hit your head on the table."

Addison: (with her hands held out to the sides) "No mommy, I have to spin...I'm a princess"

Too funny...

Fwiends, fwiends, and more fwiends...

Addison lovingly refers to her friends as "fwiends". She LOVES her weekly playdates with the kids that were in her class for Mother's Morning Out this past year. WARNING: there are A LOT of pictures...but I just think it is so stinking cute to watch her playing and really enjoying other kids her age. And, she is old enough to pick her friends...boy does she have some cute ones!!!

Some of these pictures are from our visit to EarlyWorks Museum, which was GREAT! There was a TON for her to do, from playing with ducks in the water, to milking a cow, lifting a bail of hay in a barn, to playing with a cash register (I think that was her favorite part). They also had little fountains outside for the girls to run through! She LOVED it!!!

Visit with old friends...

Well, everyone has beat me to this post, but oh well...the pictures were too good to skip! Thank you so much Michele for taking these! They're great! We had such a great time seeing everyone...Donna, Aaron and I all went to high school together, and then found love at college. Now, five years later, we are on to the next stage in life!
Sweet Marah belongs to Josh and Donna, and Walker will be here in 6 weeks!!! Amazing!

And, by the way, Addison and Quenton are wearing their new shirts that our friend Tara made. You can see all of her stuff at www.collectionsbytaranicole.blogspot.com. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!!
